Electronics usually do their work out of sight. For 2027, Aprilia is bringing them out onto the fairing: the Factory versions of the RS 660, Tuono 660, RSV4 and Tuono V4 get the new aPRC Backbone colour scheme. After aerodynamics formed the central design theme for 2026, the electronic control systems now take centre stage. The new graphics are meant to make visible what, according to Aprilia, ranks alongside aerodynamics as one of the defining characteristics of this model family.

Aprilia Factory 2027: new graphics make the electronics visible
Red circuit traces instead of just new colour accents
Red signals on black paint: for 2027, Aprilia puts electronics at the heart of the design of its four Factory models. The new aPRC Backbone graphics even reference the ECU. Here's what's behind the lines and the binary code on the tank.

Aprilia RS 660 Factory 2027 with a new look
On the Aprilia RS 660 Factory 2027, as with the other three Factory models, the Aprilia Design Centre opts for a gloss black base. Over it run red dots and lines whose arrangement is inspired by the circuit-board layout of electronics. The design symbolises signals that originate from the ECU and run through the bike. The name Backbone therefore suits the motif: electronic networking becomes the common thread running through the design.

For 2027, the RS 660 Factory wears the new aPRC Backbone graphics.

Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory and the aPRC
The Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory 2027 wears the same new colour scheme. The thematic reference point is the aPRC, short for Aprilia Performance Ride Control. Aprilia describes it as a particularly comprehensive package of electronic control systems and emphasises the standard-fit electronics on all Factory models. The manufacturer traces the technical development of this range back to the experience of Aprilia Racing. Aprilia also claims pioneering work with the Ride by Wire electronic throttle: by its own account, the brand was the first to use it on both a race bike and a production bike.

The Tuono 660 Factory also gets aPRC Backbone for 2027.

Aprilia RSV4 Factory with Corner-By-Corner
For the Aprilia RSV4 Factory 2027, the manufacturer particularly highlights its Corner-By-Corner technology. On the race track, it automatically adjusts the electronic settings for traction control, wheelie control and engine braking. These adjustments are based on parameters the rider sets before heading out. The system thus takes different sections of the track into account. Aprilia describes the RSV4 Factory and the Tuono V4 Factory as the only models on the market featuring this technology.

The RSV4 Factory is also part of the four-model Factory family with new graphics.

The Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory 2027 also combines the new graphics with the Corner-By-Corner electronics that Aprilia emphasises. A design detail shared by all four Factory models sits at the front of the tank: a panel there mimics the look of an ECU and carries the red a logo. In a transparent section, the Aprilia lettering is also rendered as ASCII binary code. So if you look closely, you'll find more than just red lines on black paint.

The Tuono V4 Factory completes the Factory range in its new look.
