Yamaha treats the XSR900 GP to a new paint scheme for the 2027 model year. With "Legend Blue", the Japanese manufacturer pays tribute to the racing history of the 1980s and, in particular, to French Grand Prix rider Christian Sarron.

Yamaha XSR900 GP 2027 in Legend Blue
Ever since its launch, the Yamaha XSR900 GP has been a homage to the racing machines of decades past. For 2027, Yamaha doubles down on the retro look and presents the new "Legend Blue" colour option. The design is based on the Sonauto Yamaha of French racer Christian Sarron, who won the 250cc World Championship title in 1984. The bold blue base colour is complemented by light blue speed block graphics on the tank and side fairing. Yellow pinstripes and yellow number boards on the front and on the seat hump complete the classic Grand Prix look. Especially in combination with the distinctive half fairing of the XSR900 GP, the result is a coherent 1980s-style appearance.
Technically, the XSR900 GP remains unchanged. Yamaha continues to rely on the familiar CP3 three-cylinder engine and modern chassis technology. The updates for 2027 are therefore limited to the looks.

Alongside the new "Legend Blue" paint scheme, the already familiar "Legend Yellow" version remains in the line-up. Yamaha has announced the 2027 model year as strictly limited. The new bikes are expected to be available from June 2027. No information on prices or production numbers is available at this time.
