Since its return to the European market in 2024, the Honda CBR600RR has once again secured a firm place among the supersports. According to Honda, more than 9,600 units have been sold across Europe since then. For 2027, the Japanese manufacturer is following up and treating its 600cc sportbike to a number of targeted improvements. The brakes and electronics in particular get some interesting updates.

2027 Honda CBR600RR: new brakes and three ABS modes
What's changing on the supersports bike
Honda is getting the CBR600RR in shape for 2027 and treating the 121 hp supersports bike to tech from the Fireblade. New brake calipers, three ABS modes and a revised front end are set to improve the riding experience. But what's behind the update?

2027 Honda CBR600RR with Fireblade brakes and new ABS
The most important technical update concerns the braking system. Up front, the bike now gets radially mounted brake calipers derived from the big CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. This brings the little sister even closer to Honda's superbike flagship in technical terms. In addition, the CBR600RR receives a revised ABS system with three selectable modes: Standard, Track and Race. This means brake control can now be tailored more precisely to the intended use. This update should be particularly interesting for riders who regularly switch between public roads and the race track.
Revised front fairing in Fireblade style
Visually, too, the 2027 Honda CBR600RR takes more cues from its big sister. The revised front fairing adopts design elements of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. A standout feature is the redesigned front mask with integrated spoiler design. According to Honda, aerodynamic performance is retained, while the new styling is intended to deliver a cleaner look.
The 5-inch colour TFT display has also been revised. The new version is said to present information more clearly, thereby improving usability in the cockpit.
121 hp from the revvy inline four
For the engine, Honda continues to rely on the familiar inline four. The engine produces 121 hp (89 kW) at 14,250 rpm, staying true to the classic supersport concept: high revs, a sporty power delivery and a clear focus on performance. Standard equipment still includes a slipper clutch and a quickshifter for fast gear changes.
The comprehensive electronics package also remains a key part of the CBR600RR. A six-axis Bosch IMU supplies the data needed for the lean-sensitive rider aids. Combined with the electronic throttle (throttle by wire), these include cornering ABS, HSTC traction control, wheelie control and rear-wheel lift detection, among others.
For racing use, Honda also offers three HRC race kits that can be used to prepare the CBR600RR for competition.
