Just two years after unveiling the seventh-generation Panigale, Ducati is already following up. For the 2027 model year, the Italians have reworked numerous details of their superbike. The focus is not only on engine output, but above all on making the available performance more usable on the race track.

Ducati Panigale V4 2027: 218 hp, new electronics
Ducati sharpens its superbike for 2027
218 hp, revised chassis and new track electronics: Ducati presents the Panigale V4 for the 2027 model year. The latest evolution of the superbike aims to bring gains above all in braking, turn-in and acceleration. Ducati is also opening up new customisation options.

Ducati Panigale V4 2027: Desmosedici Stradale grows to 218 hp
The 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 now produces 218 hp at 13,500 rpm and delivers its peak torque of 120.6 Nm at 11,000 rpm. Compared to the previous model, peak power rises by 2 hp.
This is made possible by, among other things, a revised exhaust system, an enlarged air intake and changes to the lubrication circuit to reduce mechanical losses. Ducati promises the biggest gains between 12,000 and 14,000 rpm. At 13,000 rpm, as much as 3.5 hp extra is said to be available. The new air intake increases ram-air pressure at 300 km/h by 0.6 percent. According to Ducati, this yields a further 1.3 hp at that speed.
Taller gearing and 15,000 rpm
Beyond pure engine output, Ducati has also addressed power transmission. The final drive ratio has been lengthened from 16/41 to 17/42. The rev limiter now only kicks in at 15,000 rpm in second to fifth gear as well – 500 rpm higher than before. This lets riders wind out individual gears for longer and avoid unnecessary shifts, especially on the race track.
According to Ducati, this means the revised Panigale V4 needs two fewer gear changes per lap at Italy's Vallelunga circuit. Anyone who needs even more power can opt for the new Akrapovič Full Racing Exhaust PRO. The racing exhaust promises an additional 11 hp and 7 Nm, while cutting vehicle weight by 6.6 kilograms.
New front frame: less stiffness for more grip
The chassis changes are particularly interesting. Ducati has reduced the lateral stiffness of the so-called front frame by twelve percent. What sounds like a step backwards at first is meant to pay off at extreme lean angles. The frame can absorb lateral forces better, helping to keep the front tyre in contact with the tarmac. Ducati promises more front-end feel, more precise turn-in and higher corner speeds.
The revised final drive ratio also affects handling. Thanks to the altered chain geometry, the effective wheelbase shrinks by eight millimetres. This should make the Panigale more nimble in quick changes of direction. The Panigale V4 S also gets new adjustable clip-ons. For track use, these can be raised by ten millimetres. The higher position is intended to provide better leverage and reduce physical effort, especially under hard braking and in quick changes of direction.
Dynamic Engine Brake and Race Brake Control make their debut
The Panigale V4 2027 takes a significant step forward in electronics. Ducati introduces two new systems designed primarily to optimise the braking phase and corner entry.
The new Dynamic Engine Brake (DEB) replaces the previous Engine Brake Control. Using the Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO), the system takes into account the actual load on the rear tyre and adjusts engine braking accordingly. This is intended to make the bike behave more predictably when braking into corners and offer more stability when leaned over.
The system is complemented by the new Race Brake Control (RBC). It is designed to involve the rear tyre more during deceleration and exploit the available grip as effectively as possible. Working together, the two systems should allow later braking points and tighter lines on corner entry. Ducati aims to make riding techniques previously reserved mainly for professional racers more accessible to ambitious amateur riders.
Further electronic features include Ducati Traction Control DVO, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control DVO, Race eCBS with cornering function, Ducati Power Launch DVO and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0.

Panigale V4 S 2027: Öhlins suspension and 187 kilograms

The Panigale V4 S remains the higher-spec version. It continues to rely on the semi-active Ducati Electronic Suspension 3.0 with electronically controlled Öhlins components. Up front is an Öhlins NPX-30 fork, at the rear a TTX-36 shock. The steering damper also comes from Öhlins and is controlled via the Smart EC 3.0 system.
Forged aluminium wheels, a lithium battery and Brembo Hypure monobloc calipers are also part of the features. Tyres are Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4 with a 200/60 rear. The Panigale V4 S weighs 187 kilograms ready to ride without fuel.
The standard Panigale tips the scales at 191 kilograms under the same conditions. It uses a fully adjustable 43 mm Showa Big Piston fork, a Sachs shock and a Sachs steering damper. Instead of forged wheels, it rolls on cast alloy wheels. It also has a conventional lead-acid battery.
Both versions share the 17-litre aluminium tank, the 6.9-inch TFT display in 8:3 format and the five riding modes Race A, Race B, Sport, Road and Wet.
Ducati Factory Made: Panigale V4 S customised ex works
With the 2027 model year, Ducati is adding the Panigale V4 S to its Factory Made programme for the first time. Buyers can therefore have their superbike extensively customised when ordering. Eleven colours are available, including five shades from Lamborghini's Ad Personam programme. On top of that come the two liveries Corse and Performance. Alongside classic Ducati Red and Ducati Yellow, options include Thrilling Black, Arctic White Silk and the eye-catching Viola Pasifae.
Technical components can also be fitted directly at the factory. These include the Front Brake PRO and PRO+ brake packages, an STM dry clutch and adjustable footpegs. The advantage: the chosen components are installed during production in Borgo Panigale, so subsequent conversions at the dealer are no longer necessary.
