O facto de a Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally preferir geralmente a estrada a terrenos difíceis fora de estrada já era claro desde o início, quando olhámos para a ficha técnica. O facto de não fugir a qualquer aventura também era claro. Mas todos os pilotos de teste ficaram surpreendidos e impressionados com a confiança com que lida com passagens exigentes. Apesar das jantes de 19 polegadas e da grande massa, consegue fazer mais do que apenas estradas de gravilha. Acima de tudo, a boa eletrónica e o motor finamente controlável tornam-na manejável fora de estrada. Os limites naturais do rumbler off-road só se tornam perceptíveis a altas velocidades devido aos elementos de suspensão flácidos ou em passagens de teste muito difíceis devido à diminuição da estabilidade da roda dianteira. Se não consegue perdoar um enduro de turismo desta dimensão, está a procurar no segmento errado.

Como alguém que gosta de motos desportivas polivalentes, fiquei impressionado com a Multistrada Pikes Peak quando a conduzi na pista de Modena há um ano, mas com a RS a Ducati ultrapassou os limites do que é possível numa máquina crossover. Um V4 de 192 cv num chassis que tem muitas das qualidades da excelente Streetfighter e da Panigale, misturado com a versatilidade da Multistrada, é uma mistura inebriante. Especialmente se tivermos em conta que, pelo menos para mim, é a Multistrada mais bonita da gama. Sim, é cara, mas também é exótica. Quantas vezes, pergunto-me, os proprietários da Panigale desejaram um pouco mais de conforto, autonomia ou praticidade? Bem, para além de alguns insignificantes décimos de segundo nos tempos por volta em pista, esta é a moto. Vai abanar a Europa com a mesma facilidade com que se aguenta no grupo de trackday rápido. Quem precisa disso? Eu preciso, e suspeito que muitos outros também. Penso que é ótimo que a Ducati tenha sido suficientemente corajosa e ousada para desenvolver algo que é tão prático e tão louco ao mesmo tempo.
