Wunderlich Engine Guard for BMW R 1300 GS / GS Adventure

According to the manufacturer, the new Wunderlich Engine Guard ULTIMATE aims to convince with its comprehensive protective effect for the engine housing, oil pan, and exhaust manifold. Made from high-strength, black powder-coated aluminum, this guard not only offers maximum ground clearance but also a reduced exposed area. Cooling ventilation slots and angled deflector plates against stone impacts emphasize both everyday usability and adventure prowess. With dimensions of 410 mm width and 530 mm length, this solution covers a wide area without, according to Wunderlich, obstructing access to maintenance points like the oil drain.

Also introduced was an oil level sensor guard for the BMW R 1300 GS/GSA. In off-road conditions, the low-positioned sensor could be damaged by ground contact—a risk that Wunderlich aims to minimize with a protective plastic component. The guard seamlessly integrates into existing mounting points and is compatible with both the Wunderlich and the original BMW engine guards. An integrated cable channel with a drainage opening and vibration damping through vulcanized rubber complete the technical package.

The third innovation targets the area behind the engine guard: the center stand guard plate extends the ULTIMATE skid plate rearwards. It is designed to protect the catalytic converter, collector, and swingarm base during off-road contact, and is crafted from high-strength aluminum. Important: According to Wunderlich, the plate is not compatible with the original BMW "Enduro" engine guard—a detail not to be overlooked during installations. With dimensions of 355 x 323 mm, it covers a large area between the center stand and the underside.
