It couldn't have been more fitting. Just about two weeks ago, Toprak Razgatlioğlu won the WorldSBK Championship on a BMW, and now the Germans are unveiling their new track flagship. Naturally, they are presenting it together with their Turkish shooting star, and rightly so: The updates are impressive!

BMW M 1000 R with 218 horsepower

The inline four-cylinder engine of the BMW M 1000 RR now delivers 218 hp at 14,500 rpm, which is an increase of 6 hp compared to the previous model. This power boost was achieved through several technical adjustments, including newly designed titanium valves, an increase in the compression ratio to 14.5:1, and larger throttle bodies with a diameter of 52 mm (previously 48 mm). Additionally, the intake and exhaust ports, as well as the titanium exhaust system, have been revised to optimize flow conditions.

Electronics package tailored for the race track

The BMW M 1000 RR comes standard with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), now featuring the new Slide Control function. This function uses steering angle sensors to determine the drift angle of the rear wheel and regulate it in the riding modes DTC Setting 3 and 2. This is complemented by the new Brake Slide Control, which also relies on steering angle sensors to assist the rider during trail braking drifts. Both functions aim to enhance control over the bike in extreme riding situations.

The standard Race ABS Pro provides an additional level of safety even in corners. New is the ABS Pro setting "Slick," which has been specifically developed for treadless slick tires.

BMW M 1000 RR 2025 with Improved Chassis and Aerodynamics

The Flex Frame of the BMW M 1000 RR has been further developed. Adjustments in the steering head area and a modified engine mount are intended to provide improved stiffness and optimized riding performance. The new fairing at the front and the revised screen additionally contribute to enhanced aerodynamic properties. Particularly noteworthy are the newly designed M Winglets 3.0, made from carbon, which significantly increase aerodynamic downforce. At a speed of 300 km/h, they now generate a downforce of 30 kg (previously 22.6 kg), without affecting the top speed of 314 km/h. These innovations contribute to reducing the tendency to wheelie and increasing cornering speed.

Equipment options and price of the new BMW M 1000 RR

The BMW M 1000 RR is available in two variants: the base version in Lightwhite uni and the M Competition in Blackstorm metallic. All carbon parts of the machine are finished in a matte look. The price has not yet been announced. The current M 1000 RR is priced at around 40,000 euros, depending on the market.
