A Yamaha MT-09 SP já tinha a vida facilitada na geração anterior, pois é a versão ainda mais refinada de uma máquina de diversão já muito boa, porque maravilhosamente ágil! A atual versão SP não é diferente, mas foi melhorada ainda mais. Um pouco mais de potência, maior binário e uma eletrónica melhor afinada tornam-na ainda mais divertida. Como seria de esperar, a suspensão com componentes KYB e Öhlins de classe superior funciona de forma excelente, os travões podiam ser um pouco mais afiados, mas a posição de assento continua a ser a que se espera de uma máquina de diversão tão ágil e facilmente controlável. As poucas peculiaridades, como o pequeno ecrã TFT ou a controversa máscara de luz, não a tornam de forma alguma pior, mas simplesmente uma personalidade ainda mais independente!
