Rarement une moto n'a autant réussi à faire ce qu'elle suggère de l'extérieur avec son look. La 890 SMT veut donc être conduite de manière sportive - et elle le fait particulièrement bien. Toutefois, le carénage, la selle bien rembourrée et la position de conduite droite permettent de parcourir de longues distances. Le freinage est efficace et la maniabilité est extrêmement agile, même dans les épingles les plus serrées. La devise de la 890 SMT est clairement "voyager ET rouler" !

La KTM 1290 Super Duke R est sans aucun doute une bête de par ses caractéristiques - 173 ch, 144 newton-mètres de couple, 189 kilos à sec sont des valeurs avec lesquelles on peut faire impression sur le quart de mille. C'est presque un miracle que l'Autrichienne soit si souple et agile malgré ses 1301 cm3 de cylindrée.
