Le World Raid est une extension réussie du programme de modèles Ténéré 700. Jusqu'à présent, les vrais passionnés devaient se débrouiller eux-mêmes lorsqu'il s'agissait d'améliorer l'aptitude au tout-terrain. Avec le World Raid, Yamaha introduit dans les showrooms des concessionnaires un niveau d'équipement prêt à l'emploi pour les longues randonnées (dans le désert). Même si, dans la pratique, les 500 kilomètres d'autonomie sont rarement nécessaires, ce modèle vaut la peine d'être choisi, en particulier pour ses composants de châssis raffinés.
