New Yamaha Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT 2025

Visually, both models come with a reworked front end, new LED headlights and a distinctive fade-in position light. The look is still recognisable, but a direct comparison with the predecessor reveals clear changes. The silhouette has been made slimmer and sportier while remaining functional. The tail design in particular, with its integrated tail light, underlines the dynamic character.

A key technical upgrade is the introduction of YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle), which, combined with Yamaha Ride Control (YRC), enables various riding modes. Available are preset modes for "Sport" and "Street" as well as an individually configurable option - each controllable via the new 5-inch TFT colour display or the MyRide app.

Three power maps (PWR1–PWR3) and two levels of traction control (TCS1 and TCS2) allow adaptation to different riding situations. Cruise control is now also standard on board.

Both models continue to be powered by the proven 690cc CP2 inline twin engine with a 270° crank. It delivers 54 kW (73.4 hp) at 8,750 rpm and 68 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine meets Euro 5+ homologation as well as modern demands for efficiency and rideability. A new anti-hopping clutch reduces lever effort by 22% and prevents unwanted rear wheel lock-up when downshifting.

Yamaha's automated Y-AMT gearbox will not be available, at least at market launch.

For the 2025 model year, the steel frame received additional rigidity in torsion, longitudinal and lateral directions. The lengthened swingarm (plus 40 mm) as well as a new 41 mm USD fork with 18-way rebound damping provide more stability and better handling. A new monocross shock is fitted at the rear. The Tracer 7 GT rounds out the package with a handy remote preload adjuster.

Radially mounted brake calipers at the front along with Michelin Pilot Road 6 GT tyres complete the overall riding dynamics package.

For long-distance rides, Yamaha has optimised riding position, tank shape and handlebar. The latter is now wider and mounted higher. The new two-piece seat is height-adjustable, the pillion seat has been lengthened and fitted with new grab handles. The GT version additionally offers a specially padded comfort seat and rubberised footpegs for vibration damping.

The tank now holds 18 litres, increasing range. While the Tracer 7 comes with a sportily tinted windscreen, the GT features a touring screen that is 90 mm taller and adjustable by 60 mm. Also new: revised hand protectors and standard-fit heated grips (GT).

The new TFT colour display offers turn-by-turn navigation via Garmin StreetCross, smartphone connectivity as well as a USB-C port. The indicator unit features automatic self-cancelling, a lane-change indicator function and an emergency stop signal (ESS). A centre stand is standard on the GT, making maintenance and loading easier.
