Triumph Street Triple 765 R 2020 vs. KTM 790 Duke 2018

In terms of engine and drivetrain, both the Triumph Street Triple 765 R 2020 and the KTM 790 Duke 2018 have inline engines with fuel injection. However, the Street Triple has a higher engine power of 118 HP compared to the Duke's 105 HP. The Street Triple also has three cylinders while the Duke has two. Both bikes have liquid cooling and similar displacements, with the Street Triple at 765cc and the Duke at 799cc.

In terms of suspension, the Street Triple features an upside-down telescopic fork from Showa in the front and a swing arm with a Showa monoshock in the rear. The rear suspension on the Street Triple offers more adjustment options, including compression, preload, and rebound. The Duke also has an upside-down telescopic fork in the front from WP and a swing arm with a WP monoshock in the rear. However, the Duke only offers preload adjustment for the rear suspension. Both bikes have aluminum components in their suspension systems.

In terms of chassis, the Street Triple has an aluminum frame with a twin tube design, while the Duke has a chromium-molybdenum frame with a tubular design. Both bikes have double disk brakes in the front with four pistons and radial technology. However, the Street Triple has larger brake disks with a diameter of 310mm compared to the Duke's 300mm. Both bikes also have ABS and traction control as advanced rider assistance systems.

In terms of dimensions and weights, both bikes have the same front and rear tire widths and diameters. However, the Street Triple has a slightly shorter wheelbase of 1405mm compared to the Duke's 1475mm. Both bikes have a seat height of 825mm and similar dry weights with ABS, with the Street Triple at 168kg and the Duke at 169kg. The Street Triple also has a larger fuel tank capacity of 17.4 liters compared to the Duke's 14 liters.

In terms of strengths, the Street Triple offers a wide usable rev range, an active seating position, high stability, a great gearbox with a shift assistant, and a first-class chassis. On the other hand, the Duke has a lively, high-revving engine with powerful acceleration, an optimally tuned chassis for sporty riding, an awesome sound even with the series muffler, many electronic gimmicks and functions, and an extremely precise quickshifter that makes fast riding even easier. Both bikes also offer a comfortable seating position.

In terms of weaknesses, the Street Triple's traction control regulates early, the seat has little grip, and the display is outdated. The Duke, on the other hand, has rough handling at low revs, can be difficult to handle in city traffic, has sometimes fiddly-looking switches on the handlebars, and may experience oil leaks at the engine block on many 790 Dukes.
