Kawasaki Versys 1000 är inte en helt ny modell - även om den ser ut som en ur designsynpunkt. Utseendet har på ett smart sätt anpassats till den nuvarande aggressiva Kawasaki-linjen med två spetsiga strålkastare och många kanter i fronten. Tekniskt sett har den å andra sidan uppgraderats försiktigt - men ganska förnuftigt. Två extra hästkrafter ökar effekten till 120 hk, vilket är utmärkt att köra tack vare de underbara radfyrcylindriga egenskaperna. Chassit motsvarar de sportiga kraven på en Kawasaki, men ergonomin och den bekväma sittpositionen tillåter långa resor - precis som en stor enduro. Med användbara tillbehör som packväskor, toppväska, uppvärmda handtag och extra strålkastare blir Versys 1000 en seriös långfärdstourer - det jämförelsevis låga grundpriset gör dessa gimmicks ganska överkomliga.

The BMW S 1000 XR offers a pleasant touring motorbike on the basis of a supersports bike. It sounds like a compromise - but it rides like a precisely targeted development. The bike is practical and mature. Wind and weather protection are very good, the integration of the mobile phone is well tested and intuitive and the engine is simply always a joy to ride. Although the suspension adapts well to the load, it is never sensitive or really comfortable. The seating comfort is good, but the knee angle becomes a little sharp when touring for long distances. Nevertheless, it's a great bike for sporty riding but also for long distances.
