För mig var elektroniken och styrgeometrin de mest märkbara av alla innovationer. Tack vare den extra informationen från den nya styrvinkelsensorn och de reviderade körhjälpmedlen har den nya S1000RR nu ett elektroniskt paket med vilket du inte bara kan köra säkert, utan också snabbt, vilket särskilt kommer att glädja den snabbare fraktionen. Men med några ytterligare funktioner, som Slide Control, har även den genomsnittliga föraren möjlighet att prova proffsens körstil utan risk, för att göra en bra figur på körfoton. Och bortsett från det är det också kul. Den nya styrgeometrin ger lite mer lugn i fronten och förbättrar återkopplingen, vilket är en ovärderlig fördel, särskilt vid gränserna. Så nästa omgång i jakten på den bästa supercykeln är öppnad.

With the BMW S 1000 R, you notice both the close relationship to the S 1000 RR superbike and the endeavour to equip the machine with a high degree of comfort for country roads and everyday use. Accordingly, the 1000cc four-cylinder power unit is brute and yet easily controllable, and the seating position is correspondingly sporty and comfortable. The fact that the S 1000 R is one of the most affordable power naked bikes is surprising and very pleasing, although one must not get hold of the list of optional extras - because thanks to the many irresistible features, it will certainly be more expensive.
