BMW R 18 är en vackert tillverkad motorcykel. Allt med den är äkta. Den stora boxern kommer att glädja vänner av BMW-märket, men också vänner av extrovert mekanisk motorcykelteknik. I körläge är motorn behaglig att dosera och passar därmed väl ihop med den tillgängliga hanteringen. Utrustningsalternativen är nästan obegränsade. När det gäller kördynamik, chassi och elektronikpaket bryter BMW inte någon ny mark. Det är en välgjord klassisk vacker cruiser. Sittpositionen värmer upp temperamenten. Under provkörningen klarade dock journalisterna det bra. Det tenderar att vara lite svårare att sitta på cykeln med långa ben.
