With the BMW S 1000 R, you notice both the close relationship to the S 1000 RR superbike and the endeavour to equip the machine with a high degree of comfort for country roads and everyday use. Accordingly, the 1000cc four-cylinder power unit is brute and yet easily controllable, and the seating position is correspondingly sporty and comfortable. The fact that the S 1000 R is one of the most affordable power naked bikes is surprising and very pleasing, although one must not get hold of the list of optional extras - because thanks to the many irresistible features, it will certainly be more expensive.

Problemet med Streetfighter V4 S med Euro4-motor, nämligen ingen kraft i det lägre varvtalsområdet men explosion i det övre varvtalsområdet, har till stor del åtgärdats med uppdateringen till Euro5. Även om de motbjudande 208 hk fortfarande bara är tillgängliga vid 13.000 rpm, arbetar SF V4 S nu också acceptabelt vid lägre varvtal. Den elektroniska Öhlins-fjädringen är i sitt esse och de brutala Brembo Stylema-stopparna visar återigen på förkärleken för racerbanan. Ergonomi och köregenskaper är också i grunden bra, men på racerbanan skulle du önska dig ett lägre styre på grund av den fantastiska kraften. En perfekt posörcykel som också fungerar på landsvägen, och på racerbanan i alla fall. Endast det alltför höga ljudet borde dämpas lite.
