Den är nu inte bara visuellt mer mogen, utan också märkbart mer kompetent i höga hastigheter. När du kör R3 på gränsen känner du snabbt varför Yamaha har satt upp sin egen Cup på den, eftersom även standardmodellen ger en säker känsla i hög hastighet. Ändå finns det utrymme för förbättringar, särskilt i vardagsanvändning, när den grova responsen vid låga varvtal och den dåliga återkopplingen från bromshandtaget leder till några stunder av frustration under körningen.

All in all, the new CBR500R is guaranteed to be a suitable entry into the world of the stooped. The look is to die for and appears sporty and aggressive, but the riding itself is child's play. The wind protection is great, the seating position still relatively relaxed. So there's nothing to stop you from being completely happy with this economical sports bike (a little over 4L/100km fuel consumption), both in the corner and on the way to work or university. It will be hard to find another motorbike that is as easy to ride and looks so sporty at the same time!
