KTM 1090 Adventure är ett stort steg från föregångaren 1050 Adventure mot sina större systrar. Elektronikpaketet med justerbara körlägen, traction control och ABS ligger kvar på den redan höga nivån, men motorn har nu 125 hk, ungefär en tredjedel (!) mer än 1050. Nästan ännu viktigare är att den nu kan varvas fritt till över 10 000 rpm och därmed erbjuder ett mer användbart varvtalsband.
