Visueel is de nieuwe Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 nauw verwant aan zijn ééncilinder zusje, de Continental GT 535, maar technisch gezien zet hij een enorme stap vooruit. De parallelle tweecilinder motor met 48 pk en 53 Newtonmeter koppel is levendig en verfijnd, het rijgedrag is verrassend stabiel en ook de remmen zijn indrukwekkend. Hoewel er geen elektronische voorzieningen zijn, blijft de prachtige caféracer-look absoluut authentiek. De prijs is in Europa ook zo laag dat Royal Enfield niet langer als een eigenzinnige exoot moet worden beschouwd.
