Ha figyelembe vesszük, hogy a KTM Duke család honnan indult, a 690 Duke hihetetlen elorelépés. A motor rendkívül kifinomult, ugyanakkor egy utcai egyhengereshez képest harsány. A fedélzeti technológia ellenére ez még mindig egy nagyon könnyu motorkerékpár, és már-már játéknak nevezheto (a jó értelemben vett). Egyedül az üléspozíciója osztja meg a véleményeket, ugyanis a 2012-es Duke 4-gyel az egykori szupermotókból egy szinte szelíd, elso kerékre orientált üléspozíciójú naked bike lett. Elonye: a hétköznapok és a hosszú túrák nem jelenthetnek gondot a jelenlegi Duke-on.
