Pour beaucoup, la nouvelle Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin Adventure Sports est la véritable Africa Twin, qui, avec un réservoir plus grand, des débattements de suspension plus longs et un pare-brise plus haut, vise le grand voyage encore plus sérieusement que ne le fait déjà l'Africa Twin normale. Le châssis fonctionne comme une selle, la position d'assise permet de parcourir des centaines de kilomètres d'affilée - 525 avec un plein, selon Honda. L'agilité et la maniabilité dont peut se targuer l'Africa Twin normale en pâtissent toutefois. Mais avec l'aspect plus joli de l'Adventure Sports, Honda frappe à nouveau dans le mille, il n'y a actuellement pas de plus belle moto d'aventure.

La KTM 1050 Adventure reprend à mon avis là où les aventures 990 s'étaient arrêtées il y a quelques années : Une puissance d'environ 100 ch, une maniabilité ludique et autant ou aussi peu d'électronique que l'état de l'art actuel. Le moteur est en effet tout sauf lent, l'ABS et le contrôle de traction règlent de manière sûre et discrète et la performance de conduite est extrêmement orientée vers le plaisir, notamment en raison des pneus relativement étroits. Et tout cela à un prix qui, dans la ligue des grands enduros de voyage, n'est battu que par quelques concurrents. Aussi triste que cela puisse paraître, les deux aventures 1190 et surtout le fleuron 1290 Super Adventure ont atteint des sommets en matière de prix. C'est pourquoi la KTM 1050 Adventure est peut-être même le modèle le plus cohérent des quatre Adventure.
