Le pignon d'entraînement plus petit d'une dent ne coûte que quelques euros, améliore la réponse à l'accélération à bas régime et maintient en outre les vibrations du guidon et des rétroviseurs dans des limites acceptables.

La Panigale 1299 S représente un net progrès par rapport à l'ancienne Panigale. Les fans de Ducati qui n'étaient pas entièrement satisfaits du modèle précédent pourraient bien trouver leur bonheur dans la nouvelle machine.
