On peut toujours discuter de l'esthétique et de l'absence de cadre tubulaire en treillis, mais la Monster actuelle est tout sauf laide. En principe, elle serait une excellente moto de tous les jours, avec une ergonomie agréable et un système de freinage qui ne surprendrait pas les non-initiés. Même le châssis très souple peut être considéré comme un compromis acceptable, mais pour une Ducati, on s'étonne qu'au moins la fourche avant n'ait pas été configurée de manière un peu plus ferme. Malheureusement, le moteur charismatique se cabre fortement à bas régime et ne révèle son magnifique caractère de V2 que sur la route.
