Si l'on considère le point de départ de la famille KTM Duke, la 690 Duke représente un progrès incroyable. Le moteur est extrêmement raffiné et en même temps très puissant pour un monocylindre homologué pour la route. Malgré toute la technologie embarquée, elle reste une moto très légère et peut presque être considérée comme un jouet (dans le bon sens du terme). Seule sa position de conduite divise les opinions, car les supermotos d'autrefois sont devenues avec la Duke 4 en 2012 une naked bike presque docile avec une position de conduite orientée vers la roue avant. L'avantage : le quotidien et les longues randonnées ne devraient pas poser de problème sur la Duke actuelle.

La RC390 m'a ouvert les yeux et j'espère qu'il y aura encore beaucoup de petites cylindrées à venir. Un poids réduit est toujours le meilleur moyen de profiter de la moto, même si on ne peut pas se passer d'un peu de puissance. Mais la 390 a réussi à m'enthousiasmer avec ses 44 CV et à me libérer de l'envie d'encore plus de puissance. Je vais tout de suite construire une petite piste de course de 2,5 km avec 14 virages et ensuite, il y aura une coupe 1000PS-RC390.
