L'électronique règle la traction, le châssis et la gestion du moteur de manière si discrète que l'on peut se concentrer entièrement et surtout en toute sécurité sur l'accélération. Dans les lignes droites intermédiaires, la puissance de 160 ch permet à la 1290 Super Adventure de répondre à des exigences sportives et d'être ainsi très universelle.

Ceux qui pensaient que la nouvelle 8980 SMT jouerait un rôle secondaire inutile entre les modèles 890 Adventure et 890 Duke se sont probablement trompés. Rarement une moto n'a autant réussi à faire ce qu'elle suggère de l'extérieur avec son look. La 890 SMT veut donc être conduite de manière sportive - et elle le fait particulièrement bien.
