Ce serait d'ailleurs bien dommage, car la 8 nous a procuré beaucoup de plaisir sur les 3200 kilomètres parcourus jusqu'à présent. Contrairement aux faits, la 800 est même probablement le meilleur choix pour le pilote moyennement ambitieux.

On peut toujours discuter de l'esthétique et de l'absence de cadre tubulaire en treillis, mais la Monster actuelle est tout sauf laide. En principe, elle ferait une excellente Moto naked de tous les jours, avec une ergonomie agréable et un système de freinage qui ne surprendrait pas les non-initiés. Même la suspension très souple peut être considérée comme un compromis acceptable, mais pour une Ducati, on s'étonne qu'au moins la fourche avant n'ait pas été configurée de manière un peu plus ferme. Malheureusement, le moteur charismatique se cabre fortement à bas régime et ne révèle son magnifique caractère de V2 que sur la route. Mais dans l'ensemble, cela reflète très bien l'image globale du Monster : une Ducati typique qui, en termes de suspensions et de freins, est également bien adaptée à la conduite quotidienne.
