La courbe de couple plate est responsable de la propulsion régulière et puissante. Dès 4000 tours, la Duke pousse vigoureusement et monte jusqu'à 8500 tours. Même à bas régime, le moteur ne bégaie pas et n'avale pas, ce qui est un avantage en ville. La plus grande force de la Duke, outre sa conduite, est sa maniabilité, c'est pourquoi on peut la qualifier de jouet. Ce n'est que lorsqu'on l'utilise sur une piste de course et que l'on attaque fort que l'on souhaite à un moment donné avoir la "R" sous le derrière.
