La nouvelle Africa Twin est arrivée exactement comme les fans l'attendaient : Bien contrôlable, peu nerveuse et une excellente compagne de voyage. Il n'y a donc pas de raison de changer radicalement l'Africa Twin, ce qui était bon reste bon pour la nouvelle - et beaucoup de choses ont été améliorées. Grâce à Ride by Wire, on bénéficie désormais aussi sur l'Africa Twin de modes de puissance, le contrôle de traction peut être réglé sur 7 niveaux (au lieu de 3 auparavant) et désactivé. La DCT en option est toujours une grande réussite et procure beaucoup de plaisir, mais elle coûte aussi beaucoup.

La Yamaha Tenere 700 est une moto d'aventure qui remplit surtout avec brio la deuxième partie de son appellation générique. En off-road, la Japonaise est une puissance. Mais elle fonctionne aussi de manière satisfaisante en tant que véhicule de voyage. Le châssis est suffisamment confortable, la protection contre le vent est présente. La selle est un peu trop spartiate, mais le moteur est parfaitement adapté aux longs trajets. À deux, la Tenere offre suffisamment d'espace et de puissance, le châssis présente également suffisamment de réserves pour le surplus de charge. Le frein est cependant dépassé par le poids supplémentaire dans certaines situations de conduite. Mais tant que l'on ne quitte pas le mode randonnée confortable, la Yamaha Tenere 700 rend heureux même à deux.
