La 1290 Super Adventure est présentée par KTM, à juste titre, comme le fleuron de l'aventure. Ce que l'on ne voit pas tout de suite avec son apparence massive, c'est que la Super Adventure est, comme ses sœurs 1190, une machine incroyablement amusante. C'est surtout dans les épingles étroites qu'elle procure un plaisir incroyable. L'électronique règle la traction, le châssis et la gestion du moteur de manière si discrète que l'on peut se concentrer entièrement et surtout en toute sécurité sur l'accélération. Dans les lignes droites intermédiaires, la puissance de 160 ch permet à la 1290 Super Adventure de répondre à des exigences sportives et d'être ainsi très universelle.

Avec la Tiger 1200, Triumph a définitivement rejoint le peloton de tête des motos d'aventure de catégorie supérieure, après les modèles de catégorie moyenne. Les modèles Rally convainquent aussi dans la pratique par leur véritable compétence tout-terrain, les modèles GT par leur agilité exemplaire, tous deux par leur puissance et leur souveraineté en toutes circonstances grâce à leur trois cylindres plein de caractère. D'autant plus que la moto d'aventure est capable de faire le grand écart entre les longs trajets et l'aptitude au tout-terrain, ce qu'une moto d'aventure doit toujours faire, dans un sens ou dans l'autre selon le modèle choisi.
