C'est bien connu, les morts vivent plus longtemps, les moteurs bicylindres de la gamme Aprilia n'ont pas tous été victimes de la norme Euro4, la classe moyenne continue à vivre - et comment ! La Shiver 900 dispose non seulement d'un couple plus élevé grâce à une cylindrée plus importante, mais aussi d'un système Ride-by-Wire parfaitement adapté. A cela s'ajoutent d'autres caractéristiques électroniques comme trois cartographies ainsi qu'un contrôle de traction et un ABS réglables et désactivables. L'aspect intemporel ne change guère, mais pour les exigences les plus modernes, un écran TFT couleur est désormais utilisé.

La KTM 790 Duke L est une moto naked absolument sportive et très amusante. La capacité d'un débutant à s'en sortir dépend fortement de sa personnalité et de ses performances de conduite. Il existe certainement des motos plus adaptées à l'apprentissage, mais les chasseurs de rayons sportifs ne se satisferont guère d'autre chose. La 790 Duke L n'est pas non plus très enthousiaste pour les trajets quotidiens en ville. En revanche, sur les routes de campagne, c'est la fête, même avec seulement 48 CV.
