La diva de Bologne n'est plus du tout une diva - la Ducati Mulitstrada 1200 se comporte tout à fait comme on peut l'attendre d'une moto d'aventure. Agile, sa devancière l'était déjà, la Multi actuelle séduit désormais aussi par ses manières sans à-coups à tous les régimes. Cela pourrait presque paraître ennuyeux aux vrais fans de l'ancienne Mulitstrada, mais cela la rend globalement plus utilisable. Dans les virages serrés, elle a besoin d'un peu plus de poussée que la concurrence, mais elle dessine aussi une belle ligne et dans les virages en épingle, grâce au système DVT, l'attaque désormais prévisible depuis le bas est très avantageuse. Lorsque les virages deviennent plus larges, la Multistrada 1200 puise dans ses ressources, ses 160 ch donnent beaucoup de gaz dans la plage de régime supérieure, peu de concurrentes peuvent rivaliser avec elle. La position de conduite a également été allégée par rapport à la version précédente, on est désormais assis plus confortablement devant le large guidon.
