Une moto de cette catégorie de puissance ne peut probablement pas être plus accessible. La XR se faufile avec aisance dans les virages et met immédiatement en confiance sur la selle. Même les longs trajets sont faciles et on descend toujours de la selle en toute décontraction. Grâce à son look tout à fait sportif, la BMW éveille cependant aussi des envies de sensations fortes. Mais le moteur n'est pas en mesure de les satisfaire entièrement. Le moteur, la boîte de vitesses et le Quickshifter sont dans l'ensemble un peu trop timides et pourraient supporter un peu plus de sportivité.

L'arme polyvalente de Bavière, qui supporte sans problème les sorties off-road les plus ambitieuses.
