Overview - KTM 1050 Adventure 2016 vs Ducati Multistrada 950 S 2019
The KTM 1050 Adventure model year 2016 and the Ducati Multistrada 950 S model year 2019 are both enduro motorcycles that offer powerful engines and advanced features. However, there are several key differences between the two models.
In terms of engine specifications, the KTM 1050 Adventure is equipped with a 1050cc engine that delivers 95 horsepower and 107 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Ducati Multistrada 950 S features a slightly smaller 937cc engine that produces 113 horsepower and 96.2 Nm of torque. Both bikes have a two-cylinder configuration and use a chain transmission.
When it comes to suspension, the KTM 1050 Adventure is equipped with an upside-down telescopic fork from WP, while the Ducati Multistrada 950 S features a front suspension from Kayaba. The rear suspension on the KTM is also from WP, while the Ducati uses a Sachs rear suspension. Both bikes offer a comfortable and stable ride, but the Ducati's electronically adjustable Skyhook chassis gives it an advantage in terms of adaptability to different road conditions.

In terms of chassis, the KTM 1050 Adventure has a chromium-molybdenum frame, while the Ducati Multistrada 950 S uses a steel frame. Both bikes have a tubular frame design, which provides strength and stability.
When it comes to braking, both bikes feature Brembo brakes at the front. The KTM 1050 Adventure has a 19-inch front tire diameter and a 150mm rear tire width, while the Ducati Multistrada 950 S has a slightly wider 170mm rear tire width. Both bikes have a 17-inch rear tire diameter.

It also has adjustable ergonomics, prestigious looks similar to its larger siblings, a height-adjustable windshield, low weight, and a comparatively affordable price.

Ducati Multistrada 950 S 2019
On the other hand, the Ducati Multistrada 950 S boasts an electronically adjustable Skyhook chassis, an elegant look similar to the larger Multistrada 1260 models, a cultivated engine, stable brakes, a comfortable seating position, a comprehensive electronics package, and a good height-adjustable windshield.
However, the KTM 1050 Adventure does have some weaknesses. Its rev limiter kicks in at 8500 revs, and its chassis may be a little too soft for off-road use. In comparison, the Ducati Multistrada 950 S is more expensive and its saddle integrated deep into the machine may not be everyone's preference. Additionally, it is not well-suited for off-road use on an enduro bike.
Overall, both the KTM 1050 Adventure 2016 and the Ducati Multistrada 950 S 2019 offer unique features and strengths. The choice between the two will depend on individual preferences and priorities, such as price, performance, and intended usage.

KTM 1050 Adventure 2016

In my opinion, the KTM 1050 Adventure picks up where the 990 Adventure left off a few years ago: Around 100 hp of power, playful handling and as much or as little electronics as is currently state-of-the-art. The engine is anything but weak, ABS and traction control regulate safely and inconspicuously and the handling is extremely fun-oriented, partly because of the relatively narrow tyres. And all this at a price that is only undercut by a few competitors in the league of big touring enduros. Sad as it may be, the two 1190 Adventures and, above all, the flagship 1290 Super Adventure, have soared in price to very high levels. And that is precisely why the KTM 1050 Adventure is perhaps the most coherent of the four Adventure models.
Ducati Multistrada 950 S 2019

The Multistrada 950 S skilfully combines several Ducati models to create a superior touring enduro in the upper mid-range. The look remains almost unchanged from the big Multistrada 1260 - which of course gives it enormous prestige. The 114 hp engine comes from the Hypermotard series, and although the little Multi S has to carry 30 kilos more than the Hypermotard 950, it can still be ridden at a brisk pace. It should go without saying that comfort is a top priority on a touring enduro. Equipped with a wealth of electronics, it can do everything a modern touring bike has to do, and with the electronically adjustable Skyhook suspension, it also offers an extremely fine extra.
