BMW R 1300 GS: Wunderlich launches Trophy seats 2026

Three seat heights, integrated seat heating and a special ThermoPro cover are all part of the concept. The rider seat and pillion seat each cost 539 euros.

With the new AKTIVKOMFORT seats, Wunderlich is expanding its accessory range for the BMW R 1300 GS with a variant in the Trophy 2026 design. Both rider seats and a pillion seat are on offer. Technically, Wunderlich combines its ergonomically shaped seats with seat heating, a ThermoPro cover and waterproof construction. The rider has a choice of three different heights. In addition to the standard version, Wunderlich offers a version 20 millimetres lower and one 20 millimetres higher. This allows the seat height to be adapted to different ergonomic requirements without having to forgo the Trophy 2026 design. For the pillion, there is the AKTIVKOMFORT Queens Edition. Wunderlich describes this as a pillion seat designed to offer additional comfort compared to the standard seat.

When developing the AKTIVKOMFORT seats, Wunderlich does not focus exclusively on long-distance comfort. According to the manufacturer, the seat contours for the rider and pillion were developed differently and tested during numerous test rides. The shape of the rider seat is intended to support the natural position of the pelvis and optimise leg posture. According to Wunderlich, this applies both to seated riding and to riding while standing. The latter point in particular plays a role on an adventure bike like the BMW R 1300 GS when riding off-road. The specially constructed seat core is also designed to prevent the rider from bottoming out. According to Wunderlich, seat pressure is distributed more evenly over a larger area, thereby relieving the coccyx. A stable base shell forms the foundation of the construction.

The new Trophy 2026 versions come equipped with integrated seat heating. Wunderlich relies on a Smart Plug-and-Play solution that is intended to be controlled entirely via the existing rider menu. According to the manufacturer, this means no separate controls for the heating are required. Wunderlich describes the heating element fitted as robust and durable. The heat is designed to be distributed evenly across the seat surface. This also makes the seat an option for riders who use their R 1300 GS in low temperatures.

While the seat heating comes into play at low temperatures, the ThermoPro cover is designed to achieve the opposite effect in direct sunlight. According to Wunderlich, the material reflects around 70 percent of the sun's thermal radiation. Compared to conventional cover materials, this can result in a surface temperature up to 25 degrees Celsius lower. Despite these material properties, the manufacturer states that neither grip levels nor freedom of movement on the seat are compromised. The ThermoPro cover benefits both rider and pillion.

Another key focus is on the construction of the seat. According to Wunderlich, the seams are joined and welded in such a way that they are 100 percent waterproof. At the same time, the seams are said to be positioned and finished so that no pressure points are created. The construction is therefore aimed at use in a variety of weather conditions – from rain on longer road stages to use off the beaten track. For the internal structure, Wunderlich also uses a bonding technology that connects the cover and the three-dimensionally shaped seat core. This is intended to prevent the seat cover and seat core from moving against each other while riding. The manufacturer associates this construction with more direct feedback when riding.

The pillion also gets a matching Trophy 2026 version. The AKTIVKOMFORT pillion seat Queens Edition with seat heating carries the part number 13114-001 and also costs 539 euros. Wunderlich highlights the additional comfort of this version compared to the standard seat. According to the manufacturer, the pillion version also benefits from the ThermoPro material and the waterproof construction. This means the rider seat and pillion seat can be combined in a matching Trophy 2026 design.

The AKTIVKOMFORT range is not limited to the new Trophy 2026 look. Wunderlich additionally lists the designs Imperial Blue-Gold/Biscaya, Green-Gold/Tramuntana and Trophy for model years 2023 to 2025. The seats are also available in classic black. The Trophy 2026 version therefore complements an already existing range of different design variants.
