REMUS RS 2.0 Limited Editions for Vespa GTS/GTV
Sound, Style & 80 Years of Vespa Special
The REMUS RS 2.0 revitalizes the Vespa 310 series: less weight, more sound, and now featuring exclusive 80 Years of Vespa end caps. We've taken an in-depth look at this sport exhaust—from installation to riding experience.
Why a Sport Exhaust for Your Vespa?
The Vespa has long been more than just a vehicle. Its a design icon, a lifestyle statement, and for many, a true highlight in the garage. This naturally raises the question: Why does such an iconic vehicle come standard with an exhaust that is visually and acoustically understated?
This is where a sport exhaust like the REMUS RS 2.0 comes into play. It not only gives the Vespa a distinctly sportier look but also adds more character to your daily rideboth visually and acoustically. With less weight, reduced exhaust backpressure, and above all, a deep, mature sound, the difference is noticeable from the first few meters.
80 Years of Vespa: Time to Get Personal
The end cap is a central design element of the REMUS RS 2.0. Crafted from CNC-milled aluminum, precisely finished, and depending on the model, either high-quality anodized or newly painted, it completes the muffler with a striking finish. The RS 2.0 comes standard with a black end cap.
With the brand-new Limited Edition end caps, personalization takes on a new dimension. To celebrate Vespa's 80th anniversary, REMUS introduces two exclusive variants:
- Officina 8 Gold for a classic, elegant appearance
- Vespa 80th Verde Pastello for a perfect match with the 80th Anniversary models
These are not just accessories but are specifically tailored to the current special editions, both in color and overall presentation. They harmoniously incorporate and extend the design of rims, emblems, and paintwork.
Powerring: The Small, Fine Detail
Optionally positioned between the end cap and the muffler, the anodized aluminum powerring is available in several colors such as red, black, gold, or orange, adding targeted color accents.
This easy interchangeability is part of its unique charm: the exhaust becomes a playground for individualists. Whether subtly integrated or deliberately designed as a focal point, the look can be tailored entirely to your personal vision for your Vespa. The concept is as simple as it is effective: individual components can be freely combined until the overall appearance perfectly matches your style.

REMUS RS 2.0 Sport Exhaust Installation
For the installation of the REMUS RS 2.0 on the Vespa GTV Officina 8 310 (and many other GTS/GTV models), we visited the Faber Roller & Bike Workshop and observed the process in detail with workshop manager Markus Wagner. The good news upfront: The conversion is generally straightforwardprovided you know the key points.
First, the seat should be opened to allow access. Then, disconnect the lambda sensor before tackling the exhaust itself. Next, loosen the clamp and the muffler mounting bolts so that the stock exhaust can be removed. In the following step, the header at the engine is loosened and removed by unscrewing the flange nuts. During removal, you'll notice: access is a bit tight in one area, so a slim 17mm wrench that fits neatly is recommended.
When installing the REMUS RS 2.0, one crucial point is to avoid tension. To do this, the two 10mm nuts on the header should be only lightly tightened initially. The new exhaust is first mounted and properly aligned before all connections are fully tightened. This prevents the header from becoming stressed or, in the worst case, damaged.
The actual installation process is quite comprehensible. The slip-on is fitted, aligned, and tightened with the specified torque of 25 Nm. With some mechanical experience, the conversion can generally be done at home.
Another important aspect concerns the lambda sensors. Since the REMUS RS 2.0 is compatible with both Euro 5 and Euro 5+ models, the second lambda opening on a Euro-5 Vespa must be sealed with the supplied plug. This ensures no exhaust leak and proper system function.
Regarding customization, there are practical tips: if you wish to change the end cap or powerring, it's best to use a Torx-25 socket and a small ratchet. Behind it sits a colored insert fastened with a 2.5mm Allen key. This allows the exhaust's appearance to be easily and material-conservatively adjusted.
This straightforward interchangeability is part of the appeal: end caps and power rings can be quickly varied according to occasion or personal moodsometimes subtle, sometimes with striking color accents. With minimal effort, a new, individual look is created time and again.
After installation, no special procedure is necessary. The engine control does not need adaptationjust mount and ride.
Note: If you prefer not to perform the installation yourself or lack the appropriate tools, a visit to the workshop is advisable. With about 45 minutes of labor time, the effort is manageable, the installation is carried out by experienced specialists, and the warranty remains intact. Scheduling an appointment is advisable, but in general, you can wait on-site for the conversion if you have some time to spare.
In Practice: How the REMUS RS 2.0 Sport Exhaust Rides
The difference from the stock setup is immediately noticeable. The black stainless steel body with the hydroformed REMUS logo looks premium and adds a distinctly sportier flair to the Vespa. Even without the powerring, the combination with the perfectly painted end cap creates a cohesive overall look that clearly stands out from the stock condition and leans more towards custom, without losing the typical Vespa character.
Sound at Idle Even at idle, it's clear there's no stock exhaust here. The sound is deeper and fuller, yet pleasantly subdued and not intrusive, at least in the version with a catalytic converter.
Sound on the Road While riding, the RS 2.0 reveals its true character. Upon acceleration, it develops a sporty, robust sound that makes the Vespa acoustically more prominent without becoming unpleasantly loud. With increasing mileage, the sound is expected to evolve slightly as the damping material settles under heat. According to Faber Workshop, a harmonious sound profile sets in after about 200 kilometers.
Weight The weight saving of around 2.5 kilograms compared to the stock model isn't a game-changer, but it's definitely noticeable. The Vespa feels slightly lighter and marginally more agile during rides, without fundamentally altering its handling.
Performance (Seat-of-the-Pants Feel) Measurable performance gains are hard to prove without a dyno. However, subjectively, the engine feels a bit freer and responds more directly when accelerating, particularly noticeable in the lower and mid-range RPMs.
Good Vibes Perhaps the most important aspect isn't in the numbers but in the feel. The REMUS RS 2.0 doesn't change the fundamental performance of the Vespa, but it alters the perception. The sound, the aesthetics, and the overall lighter feel ensure that every ride feels a bit more conscious and intense. That's the real appeal of this upgrade.
Conclusion
The REMUS RS 2.0 isn't a necessary upgrade, but it's a smart choice. It seamlessly integrates with the Vespa's appearance and addresses exactly where many riders expect more: in looks, sound, and riding experience.
The combination of high-quality design, customization options, a noticeably enhanced sound, and precise craftsmanship "Made in Austria" results in an overall impression that isn't overdone, but simply harmonious.
With the new end caps for the 80th Anniversary of Vespa, the topic gains additional relevance.
A recommendation to buy? Yes, for everyone who wants to consciously style their Vespa and give it more expression without altering the bike's character.
