Ducati DesertX 2026

Ducati DesertX 2026

The 2026 Ducati DesertX combines sporting precision with serious off-road capability. Its new 890-cm³ V2 engine pulls cleanly right from low revs, whilst still delivering that burst of power at high rpms that you’d expect from a Ducati. The transparent KYB suspension, the neutral active ergonomics, the finely modulated Brembo brakes and the superbly tuned Advanced Rider Assistance Systems inspire a great deal of confidence on both tarmac and loose surfaces. Enduro bike and Rally modes are fitted as standard, and the traction control intervenes unobtrusively. Limitations become apparent in terms of long-distance comfort, the only mediocre wind protection, the high seating position and occasional quickshifter glitches. In Austria, the significant price difference also detracts from what is otherwise a very well-rounded package.

If you want, you can also conquer tough off-road terrain with it. However, if you don't have to cover long distances, you will prefer the lightness of the standard T7. The World Raid's wide tank is noticeable in its ergonomics and handling. The soft suspension, on the other hand, copes well with tough off-road terrain and, thanks to the steering damper, the bike remains very stable even on fast-flowing dirt tracks. The complicated deactivation procedure for the ABS is annoying in the long run, and a simple "off" button would be nice. All in all, the World Raid lives up to its name, especially for world travellers, and is very well thought out in this respect with a wide range and plenty of off-road comfort.

Stable riding performance

Comfortable seat

Greatly dimensioned engine - does not overtax and is a lot of fun

Very robust overall impression

Very reliable

Very tough

strong traction

Suspension offers a wide range of use

well dimensioned suspension

very practical

The great price/performance ratio of the Tenere was somewhat lost in the form of the World Raid

When standing still, the wide fuel tank is particularly annoying on uphill sections

On the road, the front brake is a little too lax

Off-road, the rear brake is a little too weak

clutch and throttle control are now better on other bikes in this class
