Optisch ist die neue Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 stark mit ihrer einzylindrigen Schwester Continental GT 535 verwandt, technisch macht sie hingegen einen gewaltigen Schritt nach vorne. Das Parallel-Zweizylinder-Triebwerk mit 48 PS und 53 Newtonmeter Drehmoment arbeitet spritzig und kultiviert, das Handling ist erstaunlich stabil und die Bremse kann ebenfalls überzeugen. Elektronische Features sucht man zwar vergebens, aber die herrliche Cafe Racer-Optik bleibt so absolut authentisch. Der Preis dürfte auch in Europa so niedrig angesetzt werden, dass Royal Enfield nicht mehr länger ein schrulliger Exot sein sollte.
