Die Aprilia sticht durch ihren sonoren V4-Sound einzigartig aus der Menge heraus, klingt eher nach Zweizylinder als nach kreischendem Reihen-Vierer. Man fühlt sich auf der RSV4 RR sofort wohl und kann auf Anhieb ordentliche Schräglagen fahren, ohne sich herantasten zu müssen. Vom Handling her ist sie sehr angenehm, obwohl man auf ihr ziemlich hoch thront. Für große Fahrer ist sie etwas zu kompakt. Gegenüber der Vorgängerin ist sie einfacher zu fahren, gleichzeitig aber deutlich stärker und schneller. Sie punktet vor allem am Kurveneingang mit tollem Feedback vom Vorderrad.
