Pokud hledáte na Monsteru SP nějakou chybu, je to nejspíš cukání motoru V2 v nízkých otáčkách, ale pravé fanoušky motoru V2 90° to vůbec neurazí. Problémem není ani cena, protože za výkon verze SP si Italové nechávají zaplatit poměrně vysokou cenu.

Poloha sedadla je sportovní, ale v žádném případě ne nepohodlná, brzdy jsou výkonné a motor modelu S 1000 R je v nejlepší kondici - možná až příliš homogenní. Po jízdní stránce si také není na co stěžovat. Na základě čistě výkonových údajů a instalovaných elektronických prvků má BMW pravděpodobně na to, aby dosáhlo nejrychlejšího času na kolo.
