Opremljen je s prefinjeno elektroniko in skoraj vsem, kar bi lahko potrebovali v velikem potovalnem enduru, ter se pričakovano priporoča za dolge proge. Kar pa iz njegovega okornega videza ni takoj razvidno, je, da je Super Adventure, tako kot njegove sestre 1190, neverjetno zabaven stroj. Zlasti v tesnih ovinkih je neverjetno zabaven. Elektronika nadzoruje trakcijo, podvozje in upravljanje motorja tako neopazno, da se lahko popolnoma in predvsem varno osredotočite na pospeševanje. Na vmesnih ravninah 160 KM moči zagotavlja, da lahko 1290 Super Adventure izpolni tudi športne zahteve, zato ga v smislu univerzalnosti težko kdo preseže.

The Super Adventure R presented itself as a great adventure motorbike during the intensive test in the Pyrenees. It offered a great combination of long-distance comfort and off-road capability. You won't find this combination in this consistency on any other motorbike. Above all, the chassis is tough and presented itself from its best side in tough terrain. Of course, only very few riders will actually ride this monster properly - but in rough terrain, "having" has always been better than "needing".
