The XSR900 combines the performance of a sporty streetfighter with the look of a pleasing, cleanly finished retro naked bike. Novi GSX-S1000 je po osnovni zasnovi star znanec - motor in šasija sta še vedno iz predhodnika. Vendar je bil stroj posodobljen na številnih področjih in se predstavlja na izjemno visoki ravni, zlasti vizualno. Čeprav motor ne more tekmovati v ligi supermočnih hipernakedov, deluje zelo harmonično in dovolj zmogljivo. Tudi konvencionalno podvozje uspešno dosega kompromis med športnostjo in udobjem. Argumenti za kladivo so vsekakor uspešna zasnova, serijski quickshifter z bliperjem in nenazadnje razmeroma nizka cena.
