Kljub precej nenavadni kombinaciji razumnega motorja srednjega razpona z močjo 73,4 KM in izjemno agresivnega, športnega videza R7 nikakor ni ovca v volčji preobleki. Zmogljivost, ki je nekje med R3 in R6, se je v praksi izkazala za veliko močnejšo, kot bi kazale čiste vrednosti na papirju, glede geometrije, podvozja, zavor in pnevmatik pa so Yamahini inženirji resnično opravili domačo nalogo. Poleg tega ima Yamaha R7 vse lastnosti, da se lahko na kompaktni dirkalni stezi, kot je na primer Pannoniaring, tudi brez velike naložbe iz škatle zelo dobro zabava. Seveda pa se bolje počuti na podeželski cesti, kamor po našem mnenju v prvi vrsti tudi spada. Glede na celoten paket je nakupna cena več kot poštena - zato ni težava, da quickshifter ni vključen in ga je treba dokupiti kot opcijo.

BMW lahko leta 2015 še vedno pridobi točke s trdnimi dejstvi. Če vam je všeč vrhunska zmogljivost, morate kupiti BMW. Na vrhu se izkaže za neverjetno zmogljivega in od 200 odpelje preostali del polja. Veliki in težki vozniki bodo od tega lahko imeli še več koristi. BMW si s tem motociklom ni olajšal dela in je sestavil zelo univerzalen motocikel. Če bi naredili primerjalni test s 50 različnimi vozniki (od novincev do profesionalcev), bi imel BMW najboljše povprečje med vsemi 1000-kubičnimi motocikli. Zaradi elektronskega podvozja in tudi pripomočkov za vožnjo so profesionalci na cesti hitri, začetniki pa varni. Vrhunsko priporočilo za zelo široko ciljno skupino. Zelo hitri hobi vozniki ne bodo 100-odstotno zadovoljni s standardnim vzmetenjem. Če ne želite spreminjati podvozja, raje izberite model R1M, Panigale S ali RSV RF. Če želite vseeno predelati, je S 1000 RR najmočnejša in najbolj univerzalna osnova. Presenetljivo je, da se zmogljiv stroj zelo dobro pelje tudi po podeželskih cestah. Vse skupaj je videti kot kompromis, vendar se v praksi nikoli ne počuti kot kompromis.
