Thruxton po športnih zmogljivostih daleč zaostaja za modelom "R", opremljenim z Öhlinsom in Showo. To postane še posebej jasno na alpskih prelazih, kjer so dobro podvozje, močne zavore in lahkotno upravljanje ključnega pomena. V zameno pa nagradi oko esteta s še pristnejšo, saj bolj klasično zunanjostjo. Laiki težko ločijo novega Thruxtona od starodobnika ali youngtimerja. Tako kot Street Twin tudi ta na mimoidoče deluje simpatično in v njem je treba uživati sproščeno.

The Triumph is primarily a scrambler motorbike. And such a good one, in fact, that this wonderfully unreasonable and brutal fun machine can also be chased into difficult terrain. It reminds us why we love motorbikes: it provides great moments in the saddle, but also has practical disadvantages. Because off-road it is a mighty iron and can easily keep up with touring enduros, if not outdo them. With the lack of a windshield and limited space for luggage, it naturally loses out in terms of touring suitability. All in all, a fascinating motorbike that attracts a lot of attention.
