KTM 790 Adventure 2019 vs. Triumph Tiger 800 XC 2016

The KTM 790 Adventure 2019 and the Triumph Tiger 800 XC 2016 are both enduro motorcycles with similar engine types, displacements, and power outputs. However, there are several key differences between the two models.

In terms of engine specifications, the KTM 790 Adventure has a larger bore and stroke compared to the Triumph Tiger 800 XC. This results in a slightly higher torque output for the KTM. Both bikes have chain transmissions and two-cylinder engines, but the Triumph Tiger 800 XC has an additional cylinder, giving it a unique three-cylinder engine configuration.

When it comes to suspension, both motorcycles feature upside-down telescopic forks at the front and WP suspension at the rear. However, the Triumph Tiger 800 XC has the advantage of adjustable compression and rebound settings on the rear suspension, allowing for more customization to suit different riding preferences.

However, the Triumph Tiger 800 XC has a slightly smaller rear tire diameter of 17 inches compared to the 18 inches on the KTM 790 Adventure. The wheelbase of the Triumph Tiger 800 XC is also slightly longer than that of the KTM. Additionally, the seat height of the Triumph Tiger 800 XC is slightly higher than the KTM 790 Adventure.

In terms of strengths, the KTM 790 Adventure offers an engine with both manners and character, high chassis stability, excellent brakes, tremendous off-road capabilities, and low average consumption. On the other hand, the Triumph Tiger 800 XC has a great three-cylinder engine with a cool sound, a comfortable seating position, easy handling, and off-road capability thanks to its long suspension travel and comfortable chassis. It also offers selectable riding modes, adjustable ABS, adjustable traction control, and extensive features.

In terms of weaknesses, the KTM 790 Adventure has an unattractive surcharge policy and an original seat that is not optimally shaped. The Triumph Tiger 800 XC, on the other hand, is visually hardly distinguishable from its predecessor, has suboptimal wind protection, and its footrests can drag early with a very sporty riding style.
