Vizualno je novi BMW R 1250 RS edini od petih velikih bokserjev, ki je doživel večje spremembe. Še vedno ni lahek in kompakten motocikel, vendar ponuja čudovito stabilnost in udobje, le zaščita pred vetrom bi lahko bila nekoliko boljša. Vendar tudi športnost ni zanemarjena, izjemno zmogljiv bokserski motor je izjemno okreten.
