O motor tornou-se mais limpo e mais potente, ao mesmo tempo que a eletrónica se tornou mais completa. Para além do ABS e do TC, a Monster dispõe também de controlo de rodas, e a versão S tem até ABS em curva. A alavanca de mudanças rápida de série sublinha o carácter desportivo da Monster, que poderia ser mais agressiva na entrega de potência. Por outro lado, estes 150 cv podem ser conduzidos por um leque muito alargado de clientes.

O problema do Streetfighter V4 S com motor Euro4, ou seja, nenhuma potência na faixa de rotação inferior, mas explosão na faixa de rotação superior, foi amplamente corrigido com a atualização para o Euro5.
