Additionally, it has very good brakes, ensuring efficient stopping power when needed. The V-Strom 1000 also offers a taut yet comfortable chassis, making it suitable for long-distance touring. Moreover, it has a complete instrumentation system, allowing the rider to easily monitor various aspects of the motorcycle's performance.

On the other hand, the V-Strom 650 has its own strengths. It offers full torque, providing a satisfying and responsive riding experience. The V-Strom 650 also has a good sound, adding to the overall enjoyment of the ride. Furthermore, it has a large fuel tank capacity of 20 liters, allowing for longer rides without frequent refueling. Lastly, it provides a relaxed seating position, ensuring comfort during extended periods of riding.

However, both motorcycles have their weaknesses. The V-Strom 1000's windshield has been reported to create turbulence on the rider's head, which can be uncomfortable during high-speed riding. Additionally, the engine of the V-Strom 1000 can run out of breath in the upper rev range, limiting its performance in certain situations. Some riders also find the V-Strom 1000's aesthetics to be arbitrary.

On the other hand, the V-Strom 650 has been criticized for its somewhat old-fashioned look, which may not appeal to riders seeking a more modern design. Furthermore, some riders have mentioned that the narrow handlebars of the V-Strom 650 can feel restrictive, especially during off-road or maneuvering situations. Additionally, it has been described as sluggish in bends, potentially affecting its agility and responsiveness in tight corners.

In conclusion, the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and Suzuki V-Strom 650, both released in 2016, offer different levels of power and performance. While the V-Strom 1000 excels in terms of its powerful engine, traction control, and touring capabilities, the V-Strom 650 offers a more relaxed riding experience and a larger fuel tank. However, both motorcycles have their weaknesses, such as the V-Strom 1000's windshield turbulence and the V-Strom 650's old-fashioned look. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on the rider's preferences and intended use.

Suzuki V-Strom 1000 2016

In the large enduro segment, the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 is the best value for money, yet you don't have to do without anything - traction control and ABS come as standard. Excellent brakes, great comfort and a wonderfully powerful V-twin engine are ingredients that should appeal to almost everyone. The fact that it doesn't play in the top league with 100 hp is made up for by the wonderful power delivery, which ensures a relaxed climate on long journeys. Only the wind protection is not optimal with the original windshield; one should invest in the affordable, somewhat larger windshield.

Like the Kawasaki Versys, the small V-Strom is getting on a bit. The 1000 is so well done and easy to ride that you should consider taking the "big one" right away. In terms of versatility, however, the 650 is in no way inferior to the big V-Strom, and at a much lower price. But we wouldn't take it to the racetrack any more. And of course it has to cope with a heavy load more than a motorbike with 100+ hp.
