Like the Kawasaki Versys, the small V-Strom is getting on a bit. The 1000 is so well done and easy to ride that you should consider taking the "big one" right away. In terms of versatility, however, the 650 is in no way inferior to the big V-Strom, and at a much lower price. But we wouldn't take it to the racetrack any more. And of course it has to cope with a heavy load more than a motorbike with 100+ hp.
Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid 2022

The World Raid is a successful addition to the Ténéré 700 model range. Until now, it was up to the real enthusiasts themselves to improve the off-road suitability. With the World Raid, Yamaha is now putting a ready-made version for long (desert) tours into the showrooms of the dealers. Even if the full 500 kilometre range is rarely needed in practice, this model is especially worthwhile because of its fine chassis components. On the road, the World Raid is less rocky; off-road, the enormous reserve provided by the fully adjustable KYB hardware is convincing. The response is at an absolute top level. The standard Öhlins steering damper also brings calm to the front. In addition to subtle model updates, such as the colour display, smartphone connectivity or new controls, the World Raid continues to shine with familiar Ténéré qualities. After our test, we say: Sometimes less is still more. It knows how to please!
