The term “mid-range adventure bikes” covers a particularly broad spectrum of motorcycles. For this category, we have grouped together adventure bikes that sit between A2-compatible machines and the large 1200cc models with more than 150 hp. The selection ranges from motorcycles producing around 70 hp to significantly larger and more powerful machines. This creates a diverse field with very different approaches to adventure riding, from lighter and more off-road-focused bikes to comfortable long-distance tourers. Anyone expecting the larger-capacity motorcycles to dominate the ranking may be surprised. All adventure bikes between roughly 48 and 150 hp that were available as new models were eligible for consideration.
