Pros and Cons in comparison

Kawasaki Z900 2022

Kawasaki Z900 2022

The Kawasaki Z900 may not be up to scratch when it comes to modern, lean angle-dependent electronic features, but it's relatively cheap and you shouldn't underestimate the fan base of the good old inline four - the Z900 is one of the cheapest ways to own such a great engine with just under a litre of displacement in a sporty naked bike! The higher weight is noticeable, but not massively annoying, because the handling and stability are quite alright. In terms of "outdated" electronics, the most annoying thing is the missing shift assistant, which is not even available as an option. Overall, however, the Z900 is a great naked bike with a great price-performance ratio.

Light and natural handling with high stability

silky engine with full pull from low revs

high chassis transparency, great feedback

seating position with feel-good factor

absolutely fair price.

Relatively cumbersome operation of the menu

no slope-dependent assistance systems

high weight

Aprilia Shiver 900 2021

The Aprilia Shiver 900 clearly has its own peculiarities when it comes to operating the display and the riding modes - but here we'll let the Italian diva bonus pass. Because while riding, the mid-range naked bike is a real poem and lets you "waddle easily" from curve to curve. Thanks to high-quality chassis components, it can be directed as if on rails, while the 95 hp V2 transforms petrol into auditory feelings of happiness! The seating position also gives a good feeling and gives the impression that you can lift the Shiver 900 through any radius. So if you can get over the perhaps slightly dusty looks, you'll find the Aprilia a fabulous mid-range naked bike that will turn any country road rush into true soul gold!

Powerful V2 power unit

wonderful sound

suitable for A2

comprehensive electronics package

stable chassis in combination with sporty chassis

very easy to ride

comfortable but sporty seating position

Driving mode selection unnecessarily complicated

headlight optics somewhat greyed out
